SPURS Therapeutic Riding Center utilized both equine massage and Chiropractic treatments on two of our most utilized horses during the 2009 season.  Both Horses had started displaying reluctance at being saddled, which was very unlike these horses.  Hootie, a larger Appaloosa mare, and Gypsy, a paint gelding, are two of our most used horses for our program.
After one massage and one chiropractic treatment Hootie returned to her normal personality.  Gypsy was a different case as he had not only shown reluctance at saddling but also at any turn to the right and had not been bending his neck during any right turns.  At the first session of massage and chiropractic care, he displayed that he had pain in his neck and some in his back.  After the first session the back was greatly improved and only required some work at the second session, the neck proved more serious and required a third session before Gypsy turned as freely to the right as to his left.
We at SPURS are very impressed with the results seen with both of our horses, and would not hesitate to recommend the equine massage and chiropractic care provided by CrossRoads Veterinary Clinic.

We have had Dr. Anderson adjust on 5 of our horses.  They all, to varying degrees were stiff, cranky,  not moving very freely,  and grumpy about cinching.  We have seen definite improvement in each one of them.  We will definitely recommend Dr. Anderson, and all ready have.

We think that Baker stuck his head through the continuous fence...when we found him, his ear was drooping down, and the side of his face was saggy, almost like it was paralyzed.  Dr. Anderson did two adjustments on him.  It took some time for him to get better, but with in 3 or 4 weeks his ear started to perk up a little.  We turned him out to pasture for the summer, when we gathered him up in the fall you couldn't tell that he ever had a problem unless you knew it before.

Cactus started showing some stiffness in his hindquarters, and it seemed as if he were loosing muscle there also.  After 2 adjustments Cauctus looked much better, the muscle across his back and hindquarters filled in nice.  He also moved much more freely.

Smooter

Smooter was a crazy horse!  He was spooky and would buck at random.  Two adjustments later I have a mellow horse with no more bucking!

Betsy was short striding and would shaker her head, after being adjusted she is doing very good and has more energy to move out.

Billie

We have had 3 horses worked on.  Mona was very tight across her hips and down her hindquarters.  She was tough on our farrier for her back feet.  After being adjusted she stands much more relaxed.  Mona's back has lengthened and she moves much freer.

Shine was developing a jumpers hump and loosing muscle in his hindquarters.  After being adjusted his hips leveled out and the muscle returned, he had his big butt back.

Billie was the biggest change.  We only had him looked at because Dr. Anderson was doing Mona.  We thought it was just his nature to b e a slow moving lazy horse.  After a couple adjustments we have a new horse.  It totally changed his conformation!  He has withers, isn't cinchy, and can actually move freely and really covers ground.  He doesn't give my daughter grief about riding anymore.  His front legs are much more sound and his hooves are correct.  We recommend Dr. Anderson as often as we can.

"After waiting for months for this calf to be born...our show heifer from last year had a backwards calf.  Size wasn't the problem, we just couldn't get it over the pelvis to pull it out.  After numerous attempts at different angles we were finally successful.  The heifer and calf both seemed fine.  As the calf grew we could tell that something was wrong in her back or hips...nothing serious but it affected her walk and leg set.  We called Dr. Anderson and after just one adjustment we could see improvement and now the calf walks normal.  She was one of the first calves sold this fall in our pasture sale and has a bright show future this next summer.  Thanks Tammy.

Viking Dough Boy, aka Spud

I contacted Dr. Tammy Anderson the summer of 2009 when the main horse I compete on, Viking Dough Boy, aka Spud, wasn't feeling "right".  He just wasn't "firing" and was wringing his tail when I rode him.  I knew he was sore some where.  He was still winning for me but I knew he could do better and I needed to find somebody to help him.  So to Bowdle, SD we went, where Dr. Anderson could work her magic.  As soon as I started riding him again I could tell he was feeling better.  He required several more adjustments and was getting better with each one.  He has benefited immensely from the adjustments and will be getting more in the future.
After seeing Dr. Anderson's results with Spud I hauled two more horses to her.  Fadeaway Elisha, aka Fancy was "short" in the front and I feared she had navicular.  I wanted Dr. Anderson to adjust her before I took her to a vet to confirm she had navicular.  I was afraid she was destined to be a broodmare and not a barrel horse.  After one adjustment she was strinding out much better and wasn't short in the front.  I was amazed with the results from one simple adjustment.
Womanwithasixshooter, aka Shooter was taken to a trainer to be ridden for 30 days.  She was already broke to ride but I planned on starting her on the barrels and wanted a better handle on her.  She bucked every time the trainer rode or saddled her.  This mare has never offered to buck previously so I knew some thing was definitely wrong.  I picked her up on the way to Dr. Anderson's and had an adjustment done.  After one adjustment this mare was striding out like she was never sore.  She never offered to buck again and my 63 year old father started riding her right after the adjustment.
Dr. Anderson will definitely be part of my "team" that will be working on all my horses.  I have witnessed the change and the relief the horses feel after the adjustments.  She will be seeing alot of me and my horses during rodeo season!!  I would like to thank the employees of CrossRoads Veterinary Clinic for their hospitality and for the great work they do.
